Musings from ???
For those of you who haven't yet heard, our family will be moving back to the U.S. on September 18th of this year. The decision to return, though in some ways quite sudden, was actually the result of a two year process of praying, asking for advice, studying the Bible, and mulling different options in my head. It all really boils down to my uncertainty that I am called/interested/skilled to be a missionary. The cost of devoting ones life to missionary work is high and shouldn't be taken lightly. I was never certain of my desire for such work, I had only wanted to try it out for a few years. I am still not sure it is the best choice. I do not feel right about receiving financial support when I'm not sure if I should even be here.
We may return to Russia some day or even do missions work in another country. We will move back and I will begin working again (as the Lord provides) while we continue to pray and consider the cost of missionary life.
I am excited to see friends and family again. Please keep us in your prayers in the coming weeks and months as we make our move and transition. It is a big step for Olya to leave her family and friends behind. We will also need a place to live in addition to a job for myself.
There is still three weeks left in our time here and there are a few things that I need to wrap up for the children's ministry. I am revising the curriculum, indexing our resource cabinets, and preparing for a seminar at the end of the month.
As I mentioned yesterday, I plan on posting frequently over the next few days, so please check back regularly.
